Senior Secondary Design Engineer

The Senior Secondary Design Engineer is responsible for designing and reviewing protection, control, and automation systems for HV & EHV substations. This role ensures all secondary engineering deliverables are accurate, compliant with international standards, and aligned with project specifications and timelines.

• Design and develop secondary systems for HV/EHV substations (66kV – 500kV)
• Prepare and review key engineering drawings and documents (protection & control, wiring, SCADA, and panel layouts)
• Develop protection schemes and relay settings (distance, differential, overcurrent, etc.)
• Coordinate with primary, civil, and telecom teams to ensure integrated design
• Review vendor drawings and technical submissions
• Ensure compliance with international standards and project requirements
• Support testing & commissioning activities, including troubleshooting
• Attend design review meetings with clients and consultants
• Provide technical support during construction and project execution
• Guide and support junior engineers

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• 5–8 years of experience in HV/EHV substation secondary design
• Solid experience in protection & control systems
• Strong knowledge of protection relays and schemes (Line, Transformer, Busbar protection)
• Experience with SCADA, RTU, and communication protocols (IEC 61850 is a strong plus)
• Familiarity with international standards (IEC / IEEE)
• Proficiency in engineering tools (AutoCAD, EPLAN, DIGSI, ETAP, or similar)
• Experience in relay configuration and settings
