MV Switchgear Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated MV Switchgear Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, testing, maintenance, and servicing of Medium Voltage switchgear systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with a wide range of MV switchgear equipment, including both air-insulated and gas-insulated types, and will ensure systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards. This role will be responsible for supporting and executing projects based in Saudi Arabia.

• Perform installation, termination, and integration of MV switchgear systems in accordance with project specifications and technical drawings.
• Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on MV switchgear and associated protection systems.
• Diagnose and resolve faults related to protection relays, control circuits, and interlocking mechanisms.
• Assist in the configuration and calibration of protection relays (e.g., ABB, Siemens).
• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Prepare detailed service reports, test documentation, and maintenance records.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, contractors, and clients as needed.
• Provide technical support during shutdowns, upgrades, and emergency breakdowns.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 2–4 years of relevant experience in MV switchgear systems.
• Strong knowledge of MV switchgear (AIS & GIS), protection systems, and control logic.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and single-line diagrams.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC, IEEE, and local grid codes.
