Ocean freight commercial Specialist - Freight forwarding

We are seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Commercial Specialist to join our growing commercial team in Alexandria or Cairo . In this full-time role, you will be responsible for handling and optimizing our ocean freight commercial department, ensuring efficient and compliant shipping processes. Your expertise in freight forwarding and international shipping will be crucial in navigating the complexities of global logistics

• Conduct cost analysis to optimize freight forwarding processes

• Prepare competitive freight quotations and manage pricing based on market trends, costs, customer needs, and competitor rates.

• Negotiate rates and service terms with customers, carriers, shipping lines, and overseas agents.

• Maintain accurate pricing databases, rate sheets, and commercial records.

• Manage existing accounts and develop strong long-term customer relationships.

• Generate new business through sales calls, client visits, lead generation, and market research.

• Follow up on secured shipments with the Operations team through final delivery to ensure smooth execution and customer satisfaction.

• Identify new business opportunities and convert prospects into secured shipments and profitable accounts.

• Ensure pricing and commercial activities comply with company policies and industry requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a relevant field.

• 3–5 years of proven experience in ocean freight and freight forwarding.

• Strong knowledge of FCL/LCL pricing, international shipping trade lanes, and current freight market trends.

• Proven experience in freight negotiations, carrier procurement, and rate management.

• Strong relationships with shipping lines, overseas agents, and international logistics partners.

• Excellent commercial and business development mindset, with the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.

• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
