Engineering Section Head - Civil Steel

• Lead and oversee structural steel design across all stages: concept, schematic, detailed design, and IFC
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of structural engineers and BIM modelers
• Perform, review, and approve structural analysis, steel member design, and connection design
• Coordinate closely with Architecture, MEP, BIM, fabrication, and construction teams
• Ensure compliance with local and international steel codes (ECP, AISC, BS, Eurocode)
• Implement and enforce QA/QC procedures for all steel design deliverables
• Support value engineering, constructability reviews, and fabrication optimization
• Review shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and erection sequences
• Represent the structural steel discipline in client meetings and technical workshops
• Provide technical support during tender and construction stages as required

• 13–15+ years of progressive experience in structural steel design
• Strong background in design offices delivering:
• Industrial and steel-intensive buildings
• Long-span structures
• Steel frames, trusses, and composite structures
• Proven experience in EPC or large consultancy environments
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing structural steel design teams

🔹 Software & Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in: ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro (or equivalent steel analysis tools)
• Strong experience with: Tekla Structures (highly preferred), Autodesk Revit (Structure), AutoCAD
• Solid understanding of steel detailing, fabrication, and erection requirements
