Job purpose:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and results-driven GL Specialist to join our Finance team at Paymob. This role will be responsible for managing general ledger activities, ensuring accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end closing, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle daily general ledger activities and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper supporting documentation and accuracy.

• Support timely month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Assist in preparing financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.

• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper account classification.

• Support internal and external audits by providing the required financial documentation.

• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.

• Assist with financial reporting and provide relevant data for budgeting and forecasting activities.

• Identify discrepancies and contribute to improving accounting processes and procedures.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in General Ledger (GL) activities.

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.

• Experience in fintech, banking, or a fast-paced corporate environment is a plus.

• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication and collaboration skills.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Experience in month-end and year-end closing, account reconciliations, and journal entries
