Job Description
The Transportation Coordinator will oversee the logistics and transportation operations within the construction sector, ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. This role requires strong coordination skills and a deep understanding of supply chain management to efficiently support construction projects across various sites.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize delivery of materials and equipment.
- Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to schedule deliveries and pickups.
- Monitor transportation costs and prepare budget forecasts to ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during transportation processes.
- Utilize transportation management systems and software to track shipments and maintain records.
- Resolve any logistics or transportation issues that arise during project execution.
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, providing updates on delivery schedules and issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation coordination or logistics management, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Proficient in using transportation management software and other relevant applications.
- In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards related to transportation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders.
