Job Description
The Engineering Manager is responsible for ensuring high availability, reliability, and efficiency of plant machinery, utilities, and infrastructure. The role focuses on maintenance excellence, capex projects, safety, cost optimization, and continuous improvement in line with FMCG manufacturing standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensures preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of all electrical and mechanical production and utility equipment.
- Manages electrical and mechanical spare parts planning and inventory optimization to ensure critical spares availability
- Monitor energy consumption and drive energy-saving initiatives
- Leads installation, commissioning, and validation of new machines and lines
- Manages capex planning, budgeting, execution, and vendor coordination
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and as per quality and safety standards
- Ensure compliance with statutory, legal, and environmental regulations
- Drive engineering safety standards.
- Prepare and control engineering budgets (opex & capex)
- Optimize maintenance costs without compromising reliability
- Lead, coach, and develop engineering and maintenance teams
Requirements
- 10–15 years of experience in engineering and maintenance within FMCG or high-speed manufacturing environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation / Engineering
- Maintenance management of FMCG manufacturing equipment
- Preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance systems
- Utilities management (boilers, compressors, HVAC, power, water systems)
- Project management and CAPEX execution
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and reliability improvement
- Knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and Kaizen
- Familiarity with CMMS / SAP PM systems
- Strong understanding of safety, statutory, and compliance requirements
- Strong leadership and people management capability
- Effective communication across cross-functional teams
- High level of problem-solving and decision-making ability
