Job Description
To provide comprehensive strategic and operational leadership for the entire confectionery manufacturing facility. Accountable for the plant's performance, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality confectionery products while meeting all volume targets, compliance requirements (Quality, Safety, Food Safety), financial objectives, and guaranteeing the reliability and optimal condition of all plant assets and infrastructure through robust maintenance strategies.
Responsibilities
· Develop and execute the annual production plan, aligning manufacturing capabilities with company business objectives (Sales, S&OP). Drive daily production planning, resource allocation, and line efficiency to meet capacity targets.
· Champion a world-class safety culture (HSE). Ensure strict adherence to all Quality Management Systems (QMS), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Food Safety regulations (HACCP, ISO/BRC), guaranteeing that all products meet defined quality specifications.
· Oversee the Maintenance Manager and the plant's asset reliability strategy. Ensure the effective execution of Preventative/Predictive Maintenance (PM/PdM) programs to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and minimize unplanned downtime across all production lines.
· Manage the plant's operational budget (OPEX) and capital expenditure (CAPEX), driving cost control, efficiency improvements, and achieving target profitability.
· Maximize production efficiency and output through continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma). Lead initiatives focused on waste reduction, yield improvement, and cycle time optimization in production.
· Lead, mentor, and develop the entire plant leadership team (including Production, Maintenance, and Quality Managers), fostering a high-performance, accountable, and engaged work culture.
· Serve as the critical link between Production, Procurement, R&D, and Logistics to ensure raw material availability and timely shipment of finished goods, optimizing inventory levels.
· Oversee the planning, execution, and commissioning of all major facility and equipment upgrades, ensuring timely completion within budget.
Requirements
- Exceptional leadership, strategic communication, conflict resolution and executive presentation skills.
- Deep understanding of confectionery manufacturing processes, high-speed packaging, and utilities.
- Expertise in linking Production output, Maintenance reliability, and Quality control systems (e.g., LIMS, CMMS).
- 15 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (Plant Manager or Operations Director) within the Food & Beverage or Confectionery industry.
- Experience managing a large-scale, multi-departmental manufacturing facility, including oversight of Production, Maintenance, and Quality functions, and P&L responsibility).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical) or Food Science.
