Job Description
The Procurement Engineer is a critical role within our Construction team, tasked with sourcing and acquiring materials and services essential to our projects. This position plays a pivotal part in ensuring that all procurement activities align with project timelines, budgetary constraints, and quality standards, ultimately facilitating the company’s success in delivering construction solutions.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and select suppliers that meet quality and logistical requirements.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to optimize cost savings.
- Develop procurement strategies to minimize risk and enhance supplier performance.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to establish material specifications and delivery schedules.
- Monitor and analyze market trends to identify potential opportunities and risks in procurement processes.
- Manage the procurement lifecycle from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate completion of orders.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits of supplier performance and compliance with contractual terms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management within the construction industry.
- Strong negotiation skills with proven track record of achieving favorable terms and conditions.
- Ability to evaluate complex technical specifications and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to manage supplier partnerships.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
