Job Description
The Site Section Head Engineering will oversee and coordinate engineering operations on various construction projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, compliance with safety regulations, and adherence to quality standards. This role involves leading a team of engineers and collaborating with project managers to deliver projects on time and within budget, while innovating and implementing best practices in engineering solutions. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the engineering team on-site, providing direction and support to achieve project goals.
- Coordinate engineering activities across multiple construction projects to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Act as the primary liaison between on-site engineering teams and other stakeholders, including architects, contractors, and clients.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor progress and maintain quality control.
- Research and implement innovative engineering solutions and technologies to improve project efficiency and efficacy.
- Facilitate problem-solving and troubleshooting of engineering issues that arise during the construction process.
- Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Prepare and present reports on engineering activities, project status, and performance metrics to senior management.
- Ensure all engineering practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering roles within the construction industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and safety standards.
- Experience with project management principles and strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in engineering software and tools, including CAD applications.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, building codes, and best practices in the industry.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects on time and budget.
