Job Description

The Internal Audit Supervisor is a hands-on role responsible for executing risk-based internal audit and advisory engagements in accordance with the IIA IPPF. The position supports risk assessments and audit planning, performs detailed audit fieldwork, evaluates the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, and prepares high-quality audit working papers and draft reports. The Internal Audit Supervisor works closely with process owners to discuss audit observations, supports remediation tracking, and contributes to strengthening internal controls and governance through practical, well-supported audit insights.

Responsibilities

  1. Support the establishment of the Internal Audit function by contributing to internal audit policies, methodologies, templates, and working practices in line with the IIA IPPF.
  2. Participate in enterprise-wide and process-level risk assessments, including documenting risks and contributing to the internal audit risk register.
  3. Support the development of the risk-based Internal Audit Plan by providing input on risk areas and audit coverage.
  4. Develop audit programs and detailed testing procedures for assigned audit engagements.
  5. Execute internal audit and advisory engagements across key business processes, covering planning, fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up activities.
  6. Perform walkthroughs and assess the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls for newly implemented or evolving processes.
  7. Perform detailed audit fieldwork, including control testing, transaction testing, and compliance reviews.
  8. Prepare complete and well-documented audit working papers in accordance with internal audit methodology and standards.
  9. Identify control gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities, and document clear audit observations and root causes.
  10. Draft audit findings and contribute to audit reports with practical, business-focused recommendations.
  11. Discuss audit observations and preliminary findings with process owners and management.
  12. Follow up on management action plans and update remediation trackers to support timely closure of audit recommendations.
  13. Support ad-hoc reviews, special assignments, and advisory activities as required.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

·      Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

·      3–5 years of relevant internal and/or external audit experience.

·      Strong working knowledge of IIA IPPF, risk-based auditing, and internal control frameworks.
·      Experience in dynamic, evolving, or newly established control environments is an advantage.
·      Professional certification is a plus: CIA or CISA (completed or in progress).
·      Experience in the pharmaceutical/ biotechnology / manufacturing sector with a strong focus on Finance and Audit Standards is preferred.

·      Perform audit fieldwork independently and work effectively within a team.
·      Analyze audit observations and present clear, concise and well-supported findings.
·      Engage constructively with business and process owners.
·      Strong documentation skills, including preparation of clear, well-structured audit working papers that support findings and recommendations.
·      Draft clear and well-structured audit reports for management review.
·      Follow up on audit recommendations and agreed management action plans.
