Job purpose:
Own and execute core accounting activities to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial records and reporting. The role will support month-end and year-end closing, reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, financial analysis, audit requirements, and process improvements within Paymob’s fast-paced fintech and payments environment.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Manage month-end and year-end closing, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and provisions.
Maintain accurate General Ledger (GL) accounts and ensure proper transaction recording.
Perform and review bank, payment, settlement, intercompany, and balance-sheet reconciliations.
Oversee AP & AR activities and ensure accurate and timely postings.
Prepare financial schedules, management reports, and variance analysis.
Support financial statements preparation and ensure accurate accounting records.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, tax requirements, and regulations.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide required documentation.
Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Treasury, and other stakeholders to resolve accounting issues.
Drive process improvement, automation, and standardization across accounting and reporting.
Maintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready finance documentation.
Requirements
What We're Looking For:
2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced or transaction-driven environment.
Experience in fintech, NBFIs, banking & financial services sectors.
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, month-end closing, journal entries, and reconciliations.
Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting; IFRS knowledge is preferred.
Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting or financial systems.
