About the Role
We are looking for a Category Specialist to support the growth and performance of assigned product categories.
In this role, you will combine commercial thinking, data analysis, supplier management, and day-to-day category execution. You will work closely with the Senior Category Manager to monitor category performance, improve assortment and pricing, manage supplier relationships, and identify opportunities to drive sales and profitability.
This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys working with numbers and data while also dealing directly with suppliers and internal teams.
Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day performance of assigned categories, tracking sales, GMV, gross margin, and other key commercial KPIs.
Support category growth plans and identify opportunities to improve sales, profitability, and category performance.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and coordinate pricing updates, promotions, product launches, and other commercial activities.
Support supplier negotiations covering pricing, payment terms, rebates, credit terms, and promotional agreements.
Monitor supplier performance and compliance with agreed terms and SLAs, while following up on purchase orders, stock availability, and replenishment.
Manage and optimize product assortment by identifying SKU performance gaps, assortment opportunities, pricing issues, and customer demand trends.
Conduct competitor and market analysis to support pricing, assortment, and category decisions.
Analyze category and SKU performance and prepare regular weekly and monthly reports with actionable recommendations.
Work closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Product, and Customer Success teams to execute category initiatives, campaigns, and launches.
Maintain accurate pricing, product, and promotional data and support performance trackers and dashboards.
Help ensure product availability and minimize out-of-stock situations while maintaining smooth day-to-day category operations.
Requirements
1–3 years of experience in Category Management, Commercial, Buying, Retail, E-commerce, FMCG, or a related field.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Power BI is preferred.
Experience working with supplier management, pricing, promotions, assortment, or commercial performance is highly preferred.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work with multiple teams and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership.
