Secondary Design Section Head

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Secondary Systems Section Head to lead the engineering and design activities related to substation secondary systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in protection, control, SCADA, and telecom systems for HV/EHV substations, with proven experience in detailed engineering design, technical reviews, and coordination with commissioning teams.

• Lead the preparation and review of secondary design function deliverables for HV/EHV substation projects, including schematics, wiring diagrams, control philosophies, panel layouts, I/O lists, and associated design documents.
• Manage section-level planning and distribution of tasks to ensure timely completion of deliverables in line with project schedules and engineering priorities.
• Review technical specifications, design criteria, equipment data, and client requirements to ensure accurate and compliant engineering outputs.
• Coordinate design activities related to protection, control, SCADA, telecom, RTU, automation, and auxiliary systems within substation projects.
• Prepare and review technical submittals, material requisitions, vendor data reviews, and engineering clarifications related to secondary systems.
• Ensure proper interface coordination between design, procurement, site execution, primary Design, and commissioning teams.
• Support resolution of technical issues arising during project execution, manufacturing review, installation, testing, energization, and commissioning stages.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable IEC standards, utility requirements, project specifications, and internal engineering practices.
• Review and validate technical changes, design deviations, and optimization proposals before issuance or implementation. Provide technical guidance and review support to engineers within the section to maintain quality and consistency of engineering output.
• Participate in design review meetings with internal teams, clients, consultants, and suppliers as required by project needs.
• Maintain proper documentation, revision control, and engineering records for all secondary design deliverables and approvals.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8-10+ years of experience in substation protection, control, SCADA, and telecom engineering .
• Strong experience in detailed design including schematics, wiring diagrams, control philosophy, relay coordination, and automation systems.
• Proven experience in preparing and reviewing protection schemes, logic diagrams, and control system architectures. Experience in engineering deliverables review, FAT/SAT support, and coordination with commissioning teams.
• Familiarity with IEC standards, IEC 61850, and utility specifications for protection and control systems.
• Exposure to SCADA, RTU, DCS, and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 61850
• English Language: Good
