Job Description
The Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the purchasing processes and inventory requirements of our construction projects. This position ensures that all materials and services are procured in a timely manner, within budget constraints, while meeting quality standards and operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's goals and project requirements.
- Source and negotiate contracts with suppliers for construction materials and services, ensuring cost efficiency and quality.
- Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to identify material needs and delivery schedules.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage supply chain logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Review and approve purchase orders and ensure compliance with company policies and procurement best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and supplier performance metrics.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting departments regarding budget tracking and expenditure analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficient in inventory management and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Analytical mindset with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with building codes and standards relevant to construction materials.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
