Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Public & Government Relations Manager to join our team at a leading construction firm with over 500 employees. This pivotal role will be responsible for developing and executing strategic public relations and government affairs initiatives that enhance our company's reputation, drive engagement with key stakeholders, and influence policy decisions relevant to the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement public relations strategies to build and maintain a positive image for the company.
- Act as the primary liaison between the company and government entities, advocacy groups, and the general public.
- Monitor and analyze government policies, regulations, and proposed legislation that may impact the construction industry.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, speeches, and public statements to articulate the company's vision and priorities to stakeholders.
- Coordinate public engagement efforts, including community outreach programs, media relations, and events.
- Manage crisis communication efforts to mitigate any public relations challenges as they arise.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create cohesive messaging that aligns with the overall business strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Political Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public relations, government affairs, or a similar field, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proven track record of developing successful PR campaigns and managing media relations.
- Strong understanding of governmental processes and the legislative environment affecting the construction industry.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with governmental agencies, community leaders, and industry stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
