Job Description
The Warehouse Section Head will oversee all warehouse operations in our large-scale construction firm, ensuring the efficient organization, accurate tracking, and timely distribution of materials and equipment. This leader will drive warehouse performance, maintain inventory integrity, and implement best practices to support overall company objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage warehouse staff to ensure efficient operations and maintain high safety standards.
- Develop and implement warehouse processes and procedures to optimize inventory management and reduce costs.
- Coordinate the receipt, storage, and dispatch of construction materials, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to job sites.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Collaborate with project managers and procurement teams to forecast material needs based on project timelines and orders.
- Train and mentor warehouse employees, promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor warehouse KPIs and prepare reports for senior management to highlight performance and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies regarding safety, equipment handling, and inventory control.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in the construction industry with direct supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management systems, and safety protocols.
- Proficient in warehouse management software and inventory tracking systems.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with a proven ability to develop and motivate staff.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
