Construction Manager

To manage and control site construction and installation activities for HV/EHV substation projects, ensuring safe, timely, and quality execution of works in accordance with approved drawings, method statements, project schedules, and commissioning requirements. 

• Plan, supervise, and control daily construction and installation activities at site for assigned HV/EHV substation projects.
• Lead execution of GIS/AIS installation works and ensure compliance with approved procedures, technical requirements, and project priorities.
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, tools, and subcontractor activities to achieve planned installation targets and site progress milestones.
• Review construction drawings, method statements, material availability, and work fronts before execution to avoid delays and rework.
• Monitor site productivity, quality of installation, and adherence to project schedule, and escalate constraints requiring management support.
• Coordinate closely with Tender, QHSE, Procurement, and commissioning teams to ensure smooth site execution and interface management.
• Ensure installation activities for major equipment such as GIS, AIS, transformers, breakers, CTs, VTs, and associated systems are properly executed.
• Supervise subcontractors and site crews, verify completed work quantities, and ensure compliance with contractual and technical requirements.
• Support testing and commissioning preparation by ensuring mechanical completion, punch clearance, and availability of required site records.
• Identify site execution risks, clashes, and technical issues, and coordinate corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain site discipline regarding health, safety, environmental, and housekeeping requirements in coordination with HSE personnel.
• Prepare and contribute to site progress updates, installation status reports, and handover records for management and project control purposes. 

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8-12+ years of experience in HV/EHV substation construction and installation works.
• Strong hands-on experience in GIS/AIS installation activities within substation projects.
• Proven experience in site execution management, including planning, progress tracking, and subcontractor coordination Exposure to earth grid, yard works, cable installation, and auxiliary systems within substation layouts
• Experience in mechanical completion, punch management, and commissioning readiness support.
• Familiarity with HV switching procedures, work permit systems, and site safety protocols in substation environments.
• English Language: Very Good
