Mechanical Pre-Sales Engineer

Job Description
The Mechanical Pre-Sales Engineer is responsible for preparing and delivering cohesive and competitive technical and financial proposals for mechanical engineering projects in the Construction sector. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical systems, industry standards, and a collaborative approach to interfacing with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure winning tenders and optimum project strategies.
Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive technical and commercial tenders for mechanical engineering projects.
- Conduct thorough reviews of tenders to ensure compliance with client specifications and company standards.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including project managers, procurement, and production to gather necessary information and resources for tender submissions.
- Perform cost analyses and provide accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and other project-related expenses.
- Attend pre-tender meetings and communicate effectively with clients to clarify project requirements and expectations.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitors to inform tender strategies and identify opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a database of past projects, cost estimates, and tender results for future reference and improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience in tendering/estimation for mechanical works (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design, standards, and specifications.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and estimation software.
- Experience with electromechanical (MEP) projects is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
