Job Description

Responsible for preparing, reviewing, and managing all technical documentation related to road construction projects. Ensures that shop drawings, quantities, material submittals, and technical reports comply with project specifications, engineering standards, and authority requirements. Coordinates closely with site, planning, quality, and design teams to support timely and accurate execution of road works.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and update shop drawings, as-built drawings, and design revisions for all roadwork elements including earthworks, subgrade, pavement layers, drainage, curbs, and road furniture.
  • Perform quantities take-off (QTO) for various road work items and verify quantities submitted by subcontractors.
  • Assist in preparing BOQs, cost estimates, and variation orders (VOs).
  • Act as the technical link between site teams, consultants, design offices, QA/QC, procurement, and planning departments.
  • Ensure materials and construction methods comply with local and international standards (AASHTO, ASTM, BS, etc.).
  • Provide technical support to site engineers regarding construction details, specifications, and design interpretation.
  • Review and verify site measurements and support preparation of progress claims.
  • Prepare technical reports and compliance checklists for consultant and authority approvals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 3–7 years of experience in technical office roles within road and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of road construction materials, pavement layers, drainage systems, and applicable engineering standards.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office (Excel, Word), and quantity take-off software; basic knowledge of Civil 3D or Primavera P6 is an advantage.
  • Excellent command of technical writing and documentation.
