Job Description
To maintain and repair all material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and stackers, ensuring safe and reliable operation for warehouse and production activities.
Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair:
- Perform preventive maintenance on forklifts (engine/electrical systems, hydraulics, mast, tires).
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on all MHE.
Breakdown Response:
- Respond urgently to MHE breakdowns to minimize warehouse disruption.
- Perform on-site repairs or arrange for major overhauls.
Battery Charging:
- Maintain electric forklift batteries, including watering and charging schedules.
- Ensure safe handling of batteries and acid per Egyptian Labor Law 2025.
Documentation:
- Maintain maintenance logs for each piece of equipment.
- Track spare parts usage.
Requirements
Academic and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, Technical Institute Diploma, or Industrial Technical School certificate in Automotive or Heavy Equipment Mechanics.
Experience
- 2+ years as a forklift/heavy equipment mechanic.
Skills and Competencies
- Deep knowledge of diesel and electric forklift systems.
- Ability to read hydraulic and electrical diagrams.
- Willing to learn.
- Ability to work in shifts.
- Safety awareness
- Reporting accuracy
- Teamwork capability
