Accounting Manager - (F&B)
Job Description
This is a hands-on accounting role for someone who is precise with numbers and comfortable building as they go. You'll take ownership of the books, bring outsourced accounting in-house and lead the move to Oracle.
For the first six months you'll run accounting on Excel while leading the system transition. You need to understand accounting deeply enough to work across any system, not only the one you know. If you've only ever worked inside one ERP, this isn't for you.
Responsibilities
Own the books
Own the general ledger: journal entries, accruals, prepayments and provisions.
Run monthly, quarterly and year-end close against a fixed closing calendar.
Prepare financial statements under Egyptian Accounting Standards, plus monthly management accounts by brand and branch.
Handle intercompany accounting and reconciliations across the group's brands and entities.
Manage AP and AR: supplier invoices, payment runs, aging, customer and aggregator (delivery app) reconciliations.
Reconcile all bank accounts, petty cash and credit card settlements monthly.
Tax, payroll & compliance
Prepare and file VAT, withholding tax, salary tax, stamp tax and corporate income tax on time.
Run e-invoicing and e-receipt compliance with the Egyptian Tax Authority.
Book payroll and social insurance, and reconcile them monthly.
Manage tax inspections and keep all supporting documentation inspection-ready.
Costing & inventory
Lead the costing team: recipe and product costing, bills of materials and factory overhead allocation.
Report food cost, gross margin and actual-vs-standard variances by product, brand and branch.
Own inventory accounting: valuation, periodic stock counts, wastage and shrinkage reconciliation.
Reconcile daily branch sales, POS and cash deposits, and investigate gaps.
Controls, audit & team
Set and enforce accounting policies, procedures, approval matrix and segregation of duties.
Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation.
Keep the books audit-ready and lead the annual external audit.
Lead, develop and review the work of the accounting and costing team.
Lead the Oracle transition
Run accounting on Excel for the first ~6 months with full accuracy and control.
Lead the Oracle implementation from the accounting side: requirements, chart of accounts, data migration, testing and go-live.
Train the team and make sure the new system is actually used.
Requirements
Must-haves
• 15 years of accounting experience, including people management.
• 2–3 years in an accounting / audit office early in your career.
• Strong general accounting across the cycle: costing, taxation, closing and reporting.
• Background in F&B, or FMCG / retail with manufacturing.
• Pure accounting profile, not a finance / FP&A background.
• Experience on more than one accounting system or ERP, and comfortable running accounting fully on Excel.
• Very high accuracy and attention to detail.
Strongly preferred
• Hands-on involvement in an ERP implementation or migration, ideally Oracle.
• Experience moving accounting from outsourced to in-house.
Benefits
Competitive salary plus a performance bonus

Lead a full Oracle implementation
